It was originally developed in the 1960s by a chiropractor Dr George Goodheart whereby body imbalances were determined through muscle monitoring and exploring connections between body system imbalances. Today almost four decades on, 'Kinesiology' serves as an umbrella-term for a rapidly expanding suite of specialised Kinesiology modalities (N.O.T is one of them) and has recognised training and qualifications worldwide (www.kinesiology.net). |

What is Neural Organisation Technique (N.O.T) ?
A specialised modality of Kinesiology N.O.T. was developed by Dr Carl Ferreri and is based on principles of Applied Kinesiology, Cranial Technique, Sacro Cranial Technique, Chiropractic and Acupuncture and from observations of how the body’s survival systems of feeding, movement, reproduction and the immune system are organised.

Treatment and how might my animal benefit ?
The use of Kinesiology in animal healthcare is relatively new in Australia. Some chiropractors have undertaken training in Applied Kinesiology and adapted to their practice. There are also some Veterinarians that have studied NAET (a form of Kinesiology that is specifically used in allergy desensitisation) and use in their clinics.
In working with animals you can’t actually monitor an animal’s muscle; therefore you do this via a surrogate
(a person). The surrogate makes contact with the animal, or via animal fur/hair and the energetic connection is established that allows for the muscle testing to be performed. Through muscle testing and touch locating body points on the animal, imbalances can be determined and appropriate corrections identified.
A Kinesiology balance can take between 15 minutes to an hour and can be used in conjunction with other natural therapies and conventional medicine.

Helen trained with the College of Complementary Medicine (Syd) and has also undertaken accredited training in Neural
Organisation Technique and is a qualified Kinesiologist, RKP. Helen has spent time studying and learning from leaders in N.O.T and their work with horses as there is no “dedicated/specialised” courses on the application of this modality with animals. She has adapted the techniques she has learnt to both dogs and horses.
